About Us

ESESL has provided engineering services in Electronics, Information and Communications Technology as a company in different environments for the last 18 years and our teams of professionals have provided such services in different capacities for over 30 years each.  Our company profile and curriculum vitae of the team leaders give more details on our experience.

We have designed, prepared tender documents, and supervised the tendering process to the award of the over US$5 million contracts for integrated multimedia terminal facilities for Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) at the Kotoka International Airport. This contract involved the integration of Data, Voice, Audio, and Video on a Fibre - optic backbone to serve the entire airport.

The Airline Check-In system including Local Area Networks for the check-in desks and Wide Area Connections to various airline hosts has been completed and put into use since March 2005.  Implementation of the entire project, which we supervised, was completed in June 2006.

Systems installed include:

  • A Fibre-optic Multimedia Backbone
  • Public Address
  • Closed Circuit Television
  • PABX
  • Data Network for the Terminal, Headquarters and GACL Head Office buildings
  • Check-In System (Common Use Terminal Equipment) comprising Wired and Wireless LAN with WAN connectivity through both IP and X-25 networks to Airline Hosts.
  • Flight and Baggage Information Display System (FIDS)

            -     Baggage Reconciliation

We also assisted the GCAA in the review of tender documents, evaluation of tenders and negotiations for a VSAT network comprising 8 VSAT terminals for the enhancement of aeronautical communications within the Accra Flight Information Region and for Broadband Internet access.  This involved a hub satellite earth station in Accra, Ghana,  and seven remote stations in Kumasi and Tamale in Ghana, Lome, and Niamtogou in Togo,  Cotonou in Benin, Ouagadougou in Burkina Faso and Sao Tome. The total value of this project was in excess of US$2.5million

  1. Pre and Post-Contract Consultancy services for Voice and Data Radio Communications network for CHRAJ linking the Northern, Upper East, and Upper West regional Capitals, 17 district capitals in these regions and The head office in Accra. The 21 station network is to provide voice patching through to PABX’s at the regional offices. This would enable telephone calls to be routed to and from the Public Switched Telephone Network(PSTN) to the Radio network.   Funding Agency:  African Development Bank through the National Governance Programme.  Estimated Project Value: US$250.000,-
  2. Pre and post-contract Consultancy services for the provision of PABX’s for CHRAJ in 10 regional capitals, the head office, and one sub-regional office.

Funding Agency:  African Development Bank through the National Governance Programme. Project Value: US$110.000,--

  1. Pre and Post-contract Consultancy services for the National Governance Programme in the provision of Digital Court Recording and Transcription equipment for the Judicial Service and the Commission for Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ).

These systems integrate electronic recording with computer-based multi-channel voice archiving and voice-with-text playback facilities to provide quicker and more cost-effective transcription and provision of Court reports and depositions.  Server Based archiving allow networked, yet protected access to both text and voice copies of proceedings.

Funding Agency:  African Development Bank through the National Governance Programme.  Estimated Project Value: US$275.000,-

  1. Pre and post-contract Consultancy services for Parliamentary Service of Ghana for the systems listed below. We went through a process of defining the client’s requirements, designing the systems, specifying and going to tender, evaluating the tender submissions and recommending contractors to execute the projects.  Negotiations with the recommended contractors yielded a saving of USD2million to our client. A contractor was selected and the implementation of the project is complete.   The total project value was approximately USD7 million.

An extension of the project has begun for the installation of the relevant systems to a 12 story Tower block (Job 600) being converted into offices for 252 Members of Parliament. The approximate value of the Electronics and ICT component is

USD13.5 million.

Pre-Contract work here, as in the previous case, included the preparation of a project document which formed the basis for the sourcing of finance from the government of the Kingdom of Belgium. We also provided all the technical inputs to help secure the funding.
